Vintage matchbook collage wall decor, meticulously arranged and assembled by yours truly. This is a collage of vintage matches collected from the 1940s onward in a shadow box frame, not a print. This one features matchbooks from Chicago, Illinois and surrounding areas from the 1940s-1980s in a beige, gray, black and red color scheme.
The art and retro graphics on vintage advertising and old matchbooks reflect some of the best aesthetics and execution in practical art and graphic design. In a world of mass produced prints (I have them too), these can bring some character and history into our homes. The clean lines can work with current, modern home decor, but of course these would be right a home in a retro or mid century modern home. Great home bar, office or kitchen decor.
I have other styles available and can take custom orders within reason depending on time and availability of matches. I've been doing them by color story/vibe or theme (food, location, honky tonk, National Park, vintage fashion, Italian restaurants). I do really enjoy doing them, so definitely send me a message if you're looking for something or have an idea and we'll see what we can do. I spend real time laboring over the right selection, layout, proportions, etc. and then assemble them very carefully so they take at least a week to make and are priced with based on labor and cost of materials.
