Beautiful, antique edition of "Rip Van Winkle" by Washington Irving, published in 1921 and illustrated by N.C. Wyeth. This short story, first published in 1819, tells the tale of Rip Van Winkle, a Dutch-American villager living in colonial New York near the Catskill Mountains.
illustrated with eight full color plates and numerous pen/ink drawings by N.C. Wyeth throughout. Maroon cloth hardcover with pictorial pastedown on front, illustrated endpapers, gilt lettering on spine.

C O N D I T I O N
Book is in good, used, antique condition. Back hinge loose, top and bottom of spine are frayed, there's shelf and edge wear on front/back cover, minor staining and scuffing to both boards, sticker and names of previous owner written on inside board and some light foxing on that page, occasional minor stain throughout textblock and pages are sunfaded. The gilt lettering on spine and front board is full, paste down cover still firmly in tact just some chipping along the edges.
