Vintage print of William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody (1846-1917) produced by the lithography company Hoen & Co. Buffalo Bill symbolized the "Wild West" and contributed to the romanticized image of the American frontier. This is museum mounted by Greenhut Galleries, meaning its on a 1/2" heavy cardboard and sealed in plastic, ready to hang.
The print entitled "Col. W.F. Cody Buffalo Bill" by A. Hoen & Co. was likely made for the Buffalo Bill Museum in Golden, Colorado, unsure exactly when.
William Frederick Cody was an American soldier, bison hunter, and showman. He earned the name "Buffalo Bill" after the American Civil War for supplying buffalo meat to Kansas Pacific Railroad workers. Cody founded "Buffalo Bill's Wild West," a popular touring show featuring cowboys, Native Americans, and displays of frontier skills. The show toured the United States and Europe, making Buffalo Bill an internationally recognized figure.
