Beautiful edition of the literary classic, Perrault's Fairy Tales with 12 color plate illustrations by Honor C. Appleton. Pages are high quality, feels like linen with deckled edges. The preface dates to 1911 but there are no other dates in the book to indicate when it was printed.
For almost two centuries, the stories of magic and myth gathered by Charles Perrault, have been part of the way children—and adults—learn about the vagaries of the real world, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Little Thumbling and Briar-Rose (a.k.a. Sleeping Beauty) are only a few of the characters included here. Lyrically translated and beautifully illustrated.

C O N D I T I O N
Book is in used vintage condition, some chipping to the finish of the photo, a small tear along the cloth of the binding, some small spots and discoloration from use and age. The pages have some discoloration and tanning from the sun and age. There is a library sticker on the inside board with the previous owner's name and this has imprinted and discolored the opposite page. Pages are linen and fragile and the deckled edges toward the back are kind of jagged. Unsure if water spilled on the inside info page because its a little rippled on the bottom and has some discoloration.
