Art coffee table book, "Magritte The True Art of Painting" by Harry Torczyner features 179 illustrations, including 54 plates in full color, printed in France. Great addition to an art library or as part of a decorative book display stack.
From the pages of this comprehensive, personal, and unconventional book the real Rene Magritte emerges for the first time. Magritte speaks for himself, not only through incomparable paintings but through his own provocative manifestos and the innumerable letters he wrote to those close to him--among whom was numbered the author of this book. An international lawyer, Harry Torczyner was Magritte's adviser and friend, and in assembling the largely unpublished material for this book he has had the cooperation of the artist's widow and other members of Magritte's circle.
Book is cloth bound in teal with silver lettering on spine.

Good vintage condition, the dust jacket shows wear, it has a plastic coating of some kind that is coming off but you can't peel it all the way off or else you'll take some of the color with it. I trimmed it down. There is also some yellowing discoloration on the bottom left cover and on the inside folds of the cover. Other than that it looks great.
